Facilities

THE SCHOOL

Creswick Primary School was first established in May 1854 where the Creswick Town hall is presently located.

The school moved to its present location in 1874. The main administration building is part of the original building.

MODERN FACILITIES

Over the years, the school has gone through a number of up-grades with the last being completed in September 2010, which included the construction of new classrooms, refurbishment of the toilets and the addition of change rooms and showers for students.

The school has a main administration building which includes a Library, Art Room, L.O.T.E. room, offices, meeting room, sick bay, staffroom, photocopy and server room.

The school officially opened a multi-purpose hall in 2003, which was completely funded by the school community.

In 2004 four modern classrooms and a connecting gallery was completed. This replaced two mod. 5 portable classrooms.

In 2007 the second stage was completed which included a modern canteen, sports storeroom, parents’ club room, maths storeroom and decking areas.

MODERN CLASSROOMS

The classrooms are bright and spacious and can be adapted to suit a range of learning requirements. All classrooms have networked computers with internet access and interactive whiteboards.

GROUNDS AND PLAY AREAS

The school has spacious grounds, with two adventure playgrounds, a sports oval and an all weather tennis/basketball/netball court.

Four tanks have been installed to harvest water from the roof of the school and the multi-purpose complex for use in the toilets and showers. This was part of our sustainable schools project.

MULTI-PURPOUSE BUILDING

Hire charges of the Multi-Purpose Hall and or the canteen can bearranged by contacting the front office at school. For further details and a copy of the hirer’s agreement contact the school on (03) 5345 2044.

FUTURE IMPROVEMENTS

It is hoped that our next major project will be on the oval. We hope to laser level the oval, put in drainage, add gypsum, place agi-pipes for watering and add 30 cms. of sandy top soil and sow it with a suitable grass which will be able to withstand wet winters and dry spells during the summer months.
